Rep. John Larson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district, has made several announcements on social media regarding pressing issues and upcoming events. Larson, who has been in office since 1999 after succeeding Barbara Kennelly, addressed topics ranging from gun violence to voting and energy funding.

On November 1, 2024, Rep. Larson highlighted the issue of gun violence in the United States. He stated that "Gun violence is the #1 cause of death for children in the United States. Enough is enough." He criticized Republicans for their stance with the gun lobby while expressing Democrats' readiness to pass legislation such as universal background checks and an assault weapons ban to enhance safety in schools and communities.

In another tweet on November 1, 2024, Rep. Larson reminded Connecticut residents about early voting deadlines: "Early voting in Connecticut ends this Sunday, November 3rd." He encouraged voters to plan accordingly and provided a link for finding polling locations.

Later that day, Rep. Larson announced federal support for Connecticut families facing high energy costs during winter. He tweeted: "⚡️NEW: $77.8 million in federal funding is on its way to help Connecticut families afford their energy bills this winter." This funding aims to ensure that residents can heat their homes without financial strain.
