Rep. John Larson, a longstanding U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut's 1st District, shared his views on key political issues via social media on October 30 and 31, 2024. Larson's comments focused on reproductive rights, breast cancer awareness, and Social Security.

On October 30, Rep. Larson expressed pride in Connecticut's leadership in protecting reproductive rights. He emphasized the need for nationwide access to abortion care and criticized Republican plans to ban abortion across the country. "I'm proud to say we've led the way to protect reproductive rights in Connecticut, but no woman should be denied care anywhere in this country. @HouseDemocrats are working to restore abortion access for all and fight back against Republican plans to ban abortion nationwide."

Later that day, he urged constituents to prioritize health screenings during Breast Cancer Awareness Month by scheduling annual mammograms. He also voiced support for the bipartisan Find It Early Act aimed at expanding access to breast cancer screenings for high-risk individuals. "During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take time to schedule your annual mammogram because early detection saves lives. I am proud to support @rosadelauro’s bipartisan Find It Early Act to expand access to screenings for people at greater risk for breast cancer."

On October 31, Rep. Larson addressed concerns over proposed changes to Social Security by Republicans. He highlighted Democratic efforts to enhance benefits and reduce taxes for seniors while opposing cuts and raising the retirement age as part of Republican plans. "The scariest thing this Halloween is the Republicans' plan to slash #SocialSecurity. While they try to cut your hard-earned benefits, even raise the retirement age, Democrats want to enhance benefits and cut taxes for seniors. Let's pass Social Security 2100!"
