Rep. John Larson, a long-serving U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut's 1st district, has expressed his concerns and positions on various issues through recent tweets. Known for his advocacy in social welfare and agricultural relief, Larson continues to voice the needs of vulnerable populations.

On November 13, 2024, Rep. John Larson addressed the importance of Social Security benefits for vulnerable Americans. He urged Congress to enhance rather than cut these benefits: "Who speaks for the most vulnerable Americans among us who rely on Social Security to make ends meet? They are relying on Congress to ENHANCE their benefits, not cut them. Let's have a vote!"

The following day, November 14, 2024, he criticized Republican efforts in Congress aimed at tax breaks for the wealthy and cuts to Social Security benefits. He highlighted Democrats' efforts to strengthen Social Security by ensuring equitable contributions from the wealthy: "Republicans in Congress are pushing for another round of tax breaks for the wealthy and disastrous cuts to hard-working Americans' Social Security benefits. Democrats are fighting to enhance benefits and strengthen Social Security by making the wealthy pay their fair share!"

Later that same day, Larson focused on local issues affecting Connecticut farmers who suffered significant losses due to adverse weather conditions. He noted his leadership role in advocating for emergency relief alongside other representatives: "Dozens of Connecticut farms lost hundreds of acres of crops and millions in revenue to severe flooding & frost, and they have yet to see relief. I led 38 of my colleagues, including the entire CT delegation, urging emergency relief for our farmers before we adjourn for the year."
