Rep. John Larson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district, recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. These posts address concerns about Social Security, gun violence prevention, and cancer awareness.

On November 18, 2024, Rep. Larson expressed concern over the President-elect's Social Security plan. He warned that it "could drain the Trust Fund, putting all beneficiaries at risk of automatic benefit cuts." He advocated for the Democrats' proposal to "cut taxes for seniors & enhance benefits by having the wealthy pay their fair share," urging support for the Social Security 2100 Act. "The President-elect's plan for Social Security could drain the Trust Fund, putting all beneficiaries at risk of automatic benefit cuts."

On November 19, 2024, Rep. Larson commemorated the victims of the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs two years prior. He highlighted his collaboration with the Equality Caucus to combat anti-LGBTQ+ hate and push for "common-sense gun violence prevention legislation to keep our communities safe." "Today, we remember the 5 people killed and more than a dozen injured during the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs 2 years ago."

Later that day, he emphasized lung cancer awareness by noting that it can affect anyone regardless of smoking history. Rep. Larson pledged ongoing support for expanding access to screenings and resources for cancer patients and their families. "Did you know that lung cancer can impact anyone, regardless of smoking history?"
