On February 20, 2025, he wrote about the potential elimination of the Department of Education: "President Trump's plan to eliminate the Department of Education could kick teachers out of their classrooms & decimate special education. I’m cosponsoring @RepJahanaHayes’ bill to protect these programs from their cuts!"
The following day, February 21, 2025, Larson expressed gratitude towards constituents who attended his town hall in Newington. He shared his commitment to opposing certain administrative policies: "Thank you to everyone who came out to my town hall last night in Newington. It was great to hear your questions, concerns, and feedback. I'm fighting to hold the Trump Administration accountable & defeat their plans to cut programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security!"
