Rep. John Larson, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district, has recently expressed his views on social media regarding Social Security and healthcare issues. His posts address recent policies by the Trump Administration and their impact on American citizens.

On March 4, 2025, Rep. Larson criticized comments made by Elon Musk and Donald Trump about Social Security. He stated, "Social Security is no 'Ponzi scheme,' Elon Musk. It's no 'scam' either, Donald Trump." He accused them of supporting cuts that would enable tax breaks for the wealthy and urged Republicans to join Democrats in protecting benefits for constituents.

Later that day, Larson announced he led a group of House Democrats in opposition to proposed changes to Social Security by the Trump Administration. In his tweet at 17:26 UTC, he said, "NEW: I led 152 House Democrats urging the Trump Administration to halt their plan to gut Social Security." He warned that these plans could lead to delays and disruptions in benefit distribution.

In another post from March 4th at 22:43 UTC, Larson shared his intention to bring Kara Satalino as his guest to a Joint Address. He highlighted her daughter's struggle with cystic fibrosis due to cuts in medical research funding under Trump's administration. Larson stated, "I'll continue to fight for Cecelia and the millions who rely on these programs for care."
